Venom Words — Privacy Policy
The short version. Venom Words needs no account and collects no personal information. Your games, scores, and settings never leave your phone. The app sends us two things — anonymous usage statistics (which you can switch off under the ⓘ button → Data & Privacy Settings) and crash reports — so we can fix bugs and balance the game. Purchases are handled entirely by Apple and Google. There are no ads, no tracking, and we never sell data.
1 · Who we are
Venom Words ("the app") is a party word game published by Entropy of Fun. Questions about this policy: support@entropyoffun.com.
2 · Information we do not collect
The app has no accounts and no sign-in. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, precise location, photos, microphone audio, or advertising identifiers. We cannot identify you, and we do not try to.
3 · What stays on your device
Everything about how you play is stored only on your phone: your games and their full history, scores, team names, settings, purchase entitlements, and free-trial progress. Deleting the app deletes all of it. None of this is transmitted to us.
The app uses your phone's motion sensor only to tilt on-screen artwork. These readings never leave your phone and are not stored.
4 · What we collect, and why
Anonymous usage statistics (ⓘ button → Data & Privacy Settings → "Share anonymous usage data"). This is on by default — you can switch it off at any time there, and the app works identically. We collect a random installation identifier (not linked to you or reused across apps), device model and operating-system version, country-level region, and aggregate gameplay events such as which settings a game used and how many correct, pass, and venom results occurred. We never record the words on your cards or anything typed by you. Purpose: understanding which features are used and keeping the game's difficulty fair.
Crash reports (via Firebase Crashlytics). If the app crashes, a technical report (the state of the code at the moment of the crash, plus device model and OS version) is sent so the defect can be found and fixed. Crash reports contain no personal information.
Content updates. The app periodically checks whether new word content is available, and downloads word-database updates and purchased packs from our servers. Like any internet download, our hosting provider processes your IP address transiently to deliver the file; we do not use it for anything else.
Crash reports and content-update checks use a random installation identifier, which is not linked to you.
5 · Purchases
All purchases are made through the Apple App Store or Google Play. We receive confirmation that a purchase happened; we never see your payment details. Refunds follow Apple's and Google's own policies.
6 · Service providers
One provider processes data on our behalf: Google LLC (Firebase) — analytics, crash reporting, content hosting, and remote configuration (the mechanism that tells the app whether new word content is available), under Google's privacy policy. We do not share data with anyone else, we show no advertising, and we never sell or rent data.
7 · Data retention
Analytics data is retained under Firebase's standard retention settings and thereafter survives only in aggregate statistics. On-device data lives until you delete the app.
8 · Your choices
Usage statistics are on by default. Switch them off at any time under the ⓘ button → Data & Privacy Settings — the app works identically, and no usage statistics are sent once the toggle is off. Crash reports and content-update checks continue, because the app needs them to stay stable and up to date. Deleting the app removes all local data. Because the data we hold is anonymous, we cannot locate records belonging to a specific person; if you have questions or requests under privacy laws such as the GDPR, contact support@entropyoffun.com and we will do our best to help.
9 · Children
Venom Words is a general-audience game with family-safe content. It is not directed at children under 13, and we knowingly collect no personal information from anyone, children included.
10 · Changes to this policy
Material changes will be posted at this address with a new effective date and a note of what changed.
